Die TRAXX Serie (Transnational Railway Applications with eXtreme fleXibility) ist eine modulare Produktplattform für elektrische und dieselbetriebene Lokomotiven für den Personen- und Frachtdienst, die sich besonders für die schnelle und effiziente Produktion für verschiedenste Einsatzbereiche und Eisenbahngesellschaften in ganz Europa eignet.

Die erste TRAXX Version war eine wechselstrombetriebene Zweisystemlok, die 1996 für das deutsche Eisenbahnnetz gebaut wurde. Eine Gleichstromversion und eine dieselbetriebene Variante kamen später hinzu, so dass bis heute insgesamt mehr als 1000 Lokomotiven gebaut wurden.

Im Juli 1998 bekam Adtranz – später Bombardier – einen Auftrag von über 400 weiteren Frachtlokomotiven: die Baureihe 185.5. Diese Loks verfügen über Stromabnehmer für zwei verschiedene Stromsysteme um grenzüberschreitenden Verkehr zu ermöglichen. Darüber hinaus verfügt die BR185.5, ganz im Geiste der TRAXX Philosophie, über Bauteile des Vorgängermodells, der Baureihe 145. Des Weiteren wurde das Lichtraumprofil der Lokomotive an internationale Normen angepasst und es wurden diverse europäische Zugsicherungssysteme verbaut.

Die BR185.5, auch unter dem Namen Europalok bekannt, hat eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 140 km/h und ist als Universallokomotive für den Frachtverkehr gedacht. Mehr als 300 Lokomotiven wurden gebaut und an verschiedene Eisenbahngesellschaften in ganz in Europa, unter anderem in Frankreich, Deutschland und der Schweiz, ausgeliefert.

Für den Train Simulator ist die BR 185.5 in schwarzer MRCE Lackierung, so, wie sie im deutschen Raum als Güterzuglokomotive im Einsatz ist, erhältlich. Merkmale dieser Lok sind zum Beispiel die PZB und die LZB, sowie Zacns 95 Kesselwagen.

Die Lokomotive ist außerdem Quick Drive kompatibel, sodaß Sie die MRCE BR 185.5 auf jeder quick drive aktivierten Strecke für Train Simulator, wie zum Beispiel die Strecken auf Steam, fahren können. Es sind außerdem Szenarien speziell für die West Rhine :Cologne-Koblenz Strecke (separat erhältlich und zum Spielen der Szenarien notwendig) enthalten.

La gamme TRAXX de Bombardier (pour « Transnational Railway Applications with Extreme Flexibility », soit « Applications ferroviaires transnationales à grande flexibilité ») propose des locomotives modulaires électriques et diesel-électriques pour le transport de passagers et de marchandises, conçues pour permettre une production rapide et efficace de modèles de grandes lignes pour une variété de sociétés européennes de chemin de fer. 

La première version TRAXX était une locomotive à double tension CA construite en 1996 pour le réseau ferroviaire allemand, également disponible quelques années plus tard en version CC et diesel. Près de 1 000 modèles ont été construits à ce jour. 

En juillet 1998, Adtranz (racheté plus tard par Bombardier) reçut une autre commande pour 400 autres locomotives de fret de poids moyen : la BR 185. Plus de 300 locomotives BR 185.5 ont été construites et vendues à différents opérateurs ferroviaires, y compris à des sociétés de leasing, à travers l'Europe, comme en Suisse, en France et en Allemagne. 

La BR 185.5 est disponible dans Train Simulator en livrée noire MRCE, telle qu'elle apparaît aujourd'hui sur le réseau ferroviaire allemand lorsqu'elle est utilisée comme locomotive de fret. Ce modèle embarque les systèmes de signalisation PZB et LZB et tire des wagons-citernes Zacns 95. 

La locomotive est également compatible avec Quick Drive, vous donnant ainsi la liberté de conduire la BR 185.5 sur toutes les lignes ferroviaires Quick Drive de Train Simulator. The modular TRAXX locomotives from Bombardier have become one of Europe’s most widespread family of locomotives and includes the BR 185.5, now available for Train Simulator.

Bombardier’s TRAXX family (standing for Transnational Railway Applications with Extreme Flexibility) is a modular product platform of electric and diesel-electric passenger and freight locomotives, designed to enable the quick and efficient production of mainline models for a variety of European railway companies.

The first TRAXX version was a dual voltage AC locomotive built in 1996 for the German rail network, with DC and diesel versions added in later years and around 1,000 models built to date.

In July 1998, Adtranz – later to be bought by Bombardier – received a follow-on order for 400 more medium weight freight locomotives, the BR 185. They were intended to be double voltage to allow international operations and, in line with the TRAXX ethos, included parts used on their predecessor, the BR 145, with the additional of European train protection systems and a lower height to meet international loading gauges.

The Europalok, as they were to become known, had a top speed of 140km/h (87mph) and operated as a general purpose freight locomotive. More than 300 BR 185.5 locomotives were built and sold to various train operators, including leasing companies, throughout Europe, including Switzerland, France and Germany.

The BR 185.5 for Train Simulator is available in MRCE Black livery as it appears today on the German rail network as a freight locomotive. Features of the model include PZB and LZB signalling systems, and Zacns 95 tank freight wagons.

The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the MRCE BR 185.5 on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the Cologne-Koblenz route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).
