Du beginnst das Spiel als unbedeutender Adliger im Dienste des Königs. Mit mehr als einem Dutzend Nationen und über 50 Lords zur Auswahl ist jeder Spielverlauf einzigartig und erzählt seine eigene Geschichte.

Medieval Kingdom Wars erlaubt zahlreiche Spielweisen. Die gewaltige Kampagne. Klassisches RTS-Geplänkel mit Solo-, Koop- und Mehrspieler-Optionen. Dazu eine Einführungskampagne, die den Spieler durch 9 handgefertigte Szenarien der Zeitperiode einführt.

Alles findet in Echtzeit statt, mit einem Spielverlauf im Roguelike-Stil. Deine Handlungen und Entscheidungen werden kontinuierlich gespeichert, auch während des Kampfes. Es gibt keine zweiten Chancen, keine Abzweigungen oder mehrfaches Neuladen von Spielständen. 

Dies ist das erste Spiel, das Determinismus (Fixed Force) und RTS-Gameplay miteinander verbindet. Führe deine Armee, baue dein Belagerungslager oder deine Stadt auf, sammle Ressourcen und bilde neue Truppen aus, während sich der Ablauf auf dem Schlachtfeld entwickelt.

Die Schlachten sind wahrlich episch – mit bis zu 120 Bataillonen gleichzeitig. Blutige Belagerungen, Feldschlachten und Seekriege entfalten sich mit brutalem historischem Realismus und Überlebenselementen. Plündere Leichen oder überfalle Städte, um ihre Rohstoffe zu stehlen.

Im RTS-Modus kannst du Städte aus nächster Nähe direkt verwalten. Befehlige deine Bauern, errichte Gebäude und Mauern und positioniere deine Truppen. Gleichzeitig kannst du auch alles auf der Weltkarte verwalten.

Das Spätmittelalter war eine Zeit zahlreicher technologischer Durchbrüche. Medieval Kingdom Wars stellt dies mit einem komplexen historischen Technologiebaum dar – mit über 240 Innovationen und lokalen Technologien – von religiösen Angelegenheiten bis hin zu militärischen und erfinderischen Belagerungstaktiken.

Während du dein Herrschaftsgebiet ausbaust, wirst du dich im umfangreichen feudalen System des Königreich zurechtfinden müssen. Diene dem König, pflege Beziehungen zu deinen verbündeten Lords und nimm Einfluss auf die weitreichende Politik Europas. 

Früher oder später steht es dir frei, zu rebellieren und deinen König stürzen. Damit eröffnet sich eine völlig neue Spielebene. Heuere neue Lords an, teile das Land unter ihnen auf und beteilige dich an einem komplexen diplomatischen System der europäischen Politik.
