Famous scientists from the Lunar corporation, a long forgotten colony on the moon first recognized the signs of the imminent catastrophe. According to their calculations  the distance between the sun and earth would decrease in the next few years by 17%, which would lead to terrible consequences.

The only hope left for the population was the escape to the blue planet Mars.

Verheerende Kriege zwischen der Eurasian Dynasty und den United Civilized States haben der Erde unheilbare Wunden zufügt. Damit nicht genug - eine Reihe von Kernexplosionen in der Nähe der Antarktis hatten die Umlaufbahn der Erde verändert. Gletscher schmolzen, der Wasserpegel stieg bedrohlich und Meteoritenschauer hatten bereits ganze Erdteile unter sich begraben.

Berühmte Wissenschaftlerinnen der Lunar Corporation - einer lang vergessenen Kolonie auf dem Mond - erkannten erstmals die Anzeichen der bevorstehenden Katastrophe. Ihren Berechnungen zufolge würde die Entfernung zwischen der Erde und der Sonne in den nächsten Jahren um 17% sinken, was zu verheerenden Kosequenzen führen würde. Die einzige Hoffnung, die der Erdbevölkerung noch blieb war die Flucht vom “Blauen Planeten” zum Mars.

EARTH 2150 - THE MOON PROJECT (der 2. Teil der EARTH 2150 Triologie) erzählte die Geschichte des geheimen Forschungsprojektes “SUNLIGHT” der Lunar Corporation auf dem Mond. Der Erfolg des Projektes sollte der LC die Oberhand in diesem erbitterten Kampf verschaffen.

Und das Projekt verlief erfolgreich: der größte Teil der Erdbevölkerung konnte die untergehende Erde verlassen und zum Mars fliehen. Die zurückgelassenen sollten zu den “Verlorenen Seelen” - den LOST SOULS werden.

Doch sie wollten sich nicht aufgeben, sie wollten Rache - Rache an denen die sie zurückgelassen hatten. Sie rappelten sich auf und versuchten die letzten noch verbliebenen Ressourcen “zusammen zu kratzen”, um doch noch der bevorstehenden Katastrophe rechtzeit entrinnen zu können...
